Bangor Christmas Switch On

The Christmas market returns to the seafront, with an abundance of festive treats on offer. With over 20 local market stalls selling artisan foods and local crafts this is the perfect spot to kick off some early Christmas shopping.

Grab a hot drink and soak up the atmosphere with music, face painting, a children’s carousel and much more – it will definitely put you in a festive mood.

Christmas at Project 24

Queens Parade, 12noon-5pm


Come along to Project 24 and kick off the festive season with an array of Christmassy cheer. Bring your friends and family to ‘Rock around the Roller Disco’ with disco lights and Christmas tunes.

Pop by the grotto and wish Santa and his reindeer a Merry Christmas, hop on-board the vintage double decker bus, get creative with Christmas crafts, make yummy festive delights and don’t miss the chance for marshmallow toasting.

Main Street My Street

Various stores throughout Main Street, Bangor 1pm-5pm

Follow the Elf door trail and see what Santa’s little helpers have been up to in various participating stores in Main Street. Decorate your very own elf door and write the all-important Letter to Santa in Menarys followed by traditional gingerbread decorating in The Heatherlea. Don’t forget to drop into Translink Bus and Rail Station and enjoy Christmas carols performed by local school choirs at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Lantern Parade


A lantern parade with over 100 lanterns will take you on a journey from Translink to the McKee Clock Arena led by Santa and the Mayor of Ards and North Down.

Christmas Lights Switch On

The Mayor and Santa will light up Bangor’s Christmas tree followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Etsy Christmas Fair

Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December 11am-4pm

The global Etsy Christmas Market is coming to Northern Ireland for the first time. Buy from some of NI’s favourite designers, makers and artists, and watch them demonstrate their skills.

This event is organised by Etsy Sellers NI

Christmas Movie Weekend

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 December

Everyone loves a Christmas movie and this year Project 24 is bringing back its pop up cinema for a double-dose of Macaulay Caulkin’s Kevin McAllister and his adventures.
